One of the original partners of the Warehouse sat down with us and revealed his inspiration for opening the venue as well as sharing some of his fondest memories. Thanks so much Bill.
As one of Chicago's Rush Street"Music Rats" of the late 60's I have some inkling of Bill,s inpiration in opening a Rock&Roll venue in New Orleans, one of the great music cities in the U.S. Whereas my musical roots were developed by listening to the Rythmn&Blues artists of the 1950,s broadcast at night by WLAC-Nashville,Tenn.before Elvis became a household word!Bill's tastes were developed by the influences of all the great varieties of music being played in the Fertile Delta of Mississippi and Louisiana. It was a singular pleasure to assist Bill in realizing his dream for New Orleans and a generation of music lovers! His old friend,Barnaby
Glass Pictures in association with PVW Productions and Rebirth Pictures present A Warehouse on Tchoupitoulas.
On January 30th 1970 the Warehouse opened it's doors to thousands of fans to see The Flock, Fleetwood Mac and The Grateful Dead. In the ensuing twelve years some of the best musicians in the world would grace the stage. Including - The Allman Brothers, Bob Dylan, The Doors, Pink Floyd, The Who, Bob Marley, David Bowie, Foghat, Jethro Tull, The Clash, The Talking Heads, Rush, Dr. John and many many more. We are filming this documentary on the Warehouse in an attempt to capture some of the magic that so many of us missed out on.
We are asking fans to please help us get the soundtrack this film deserves. If everyone can give a little we will be able to reach our goal of $40,000. All large donations will receive a producer credit.
